Programs & Events

What we do.....

The Brookside Parent Club funds and organizes dozens of projects and events throughout the year that directly support and enhance the educational experience of our students, teachers and community. From supplemental materials and educational programs to field trips and family dances, Parent Club plays a crucial role in making Brookside Elementary School a magical place where all our kids can thrive.

TEACHER & STAFF APPRECIATION

• Provide funds for room parents and volunteers to purchase individual gifts for all

teachers and staff

• Organize a week of teacher and staff pampering during Teacher Appreciation

Week

• Provide treats and special recognition events to show community's graditude

SUPPLEMENTAL CLASSROOM MATERIALS

• Coordinate & purchase extra back-to-school supplies with teacher

• Provide funds for additional teacher & staff needs throughout the year

• Purchase extra equipment used during PE Classes and during recess by all

grade levels

FIELD TRIPS & CLASSROOM ACTIVITIES

• Provide teachers with funding for all-day field trips across all grades

• Fund scholarships to support families taking part in 4th & 5th grade overnight

field trips

• Supply room parents with volunteer support and funds to plan class parties

and activities

STUDENT PROGRAMS

• Cover costs of annual Poetry Program for 2nd, 3rd, 4th & 5th Grades

• Provide funding for student clubs (Green Team, Executive Council etc)

• Support Brookside's participation in the Safe Routes to School Program

and coordinate monthly Walk & Roll Wednesday events

CAMPUS & COMMUNITY ENRICHMENT

• Fund school garden and organize volunteers to guide students in class

• Establish regular campus cleanup events and fund improvements

• Manage school's Lost & Found program

• Plan community building events including Bear Bash, Family Dances,

and Game Nights
